My Makeup Mishap

Nothing breaks my heart quite like broken makeup. Friday was one of those mornings when I was running late for work and was also extremely sleep deprived. Not a good combination. As I was rushing to get ready, I watched as my blush fell off my counter, onto my tile floor, and cracked into a million pieces. These things always tend to happen when you’re having a rough morning, am I right? I didn’t want to completely throw it out because I really like this particular shade a lot (It’s Model Co. “Peach Bellini” for those wondering) so I salvaged what was left, and came up with a solution for all of you suffering from this same tragedy.

I had always remembered hearing rubbing alcohol being a fix for broken makeup. I put the pieces back in the pan as best as I could and poured rubbing alcohol in the blush pan until the blush was completely covered. I used a butter knife (or you can use anything that is easy to clean so that it doesn’t get stained) to mix the alcohol and the blush together, and then I smoothed it out as best as I could. I let it sit overnight, cleaned up the excess blush that had dried on the pan, and voila! It was almost as good as new. Of course it is difficult to make it look perfect, but luckily I was able to salvage the blush and now I can use it again.

Hopefully this helps the next time you are stuck with a broken item of makeup! I would also love to hear any other fixes for this problem if you have any.

    • Thank you! Definitely was a life saver the other day. No, the texture is still the same. The color looked a little different in the pan at first, but other than that, it still looks the same on my cheeks 🙂
