Let’s Beat the Heat!

So these past couple weeks have been unbearably hot and humid here in NY. I love the summer, but I hate the constant makeup meltdown I have during warmer weather days. Luckily, I’ve perfected my makeup routine with a few products that help my makeup stay all day. Seriously!

My absolute must have summer product has been the ColorProof Humidity Rx Anti Frizz Weatherproof Spray. They really are not kidding about the weatherproof part. I use this on my hair to prevent frizz after I finish styling, but the awesome thing I learned about this product is that you can use it on your face to set your makeup. Think of it as hairspray for your face! Once you spray a light layer over your face, your makeup will not budge even on the hottest of days.

I also love the Victoria’s Secret Flawless FX Translucent Finishing Powder. This is my last step of my makeup routine before the ColorProof spray. I apply it with my E.L.F Kabuki Face Brush (which is a steal!) for even application. I’ve also heard using a Beauty Blender is great for applying a translucent powder. I can’t find a link to this specific finishing powder, which makes me wonder if Victoria’s Secret doesn’t carry it anymore (sadness), but E.L.F makes a comparable and cost efficient one which you can find here.

Lastly, let’s discuss the Bare Minerals Well-Rested CC Eye Primer. If you don’t want your eye makeup to smudge (who does?!), this is the product for you. I’ve tried lots of eye primers but this is one of the best. Not only does your makeup last all day, the yellow tone corrects color and it also has a cooling effect which feels fantastic on tired eyes in the morning!

P.S.- my bag above is Forever 21, and the sunnies are my new favorites by Jessica Simpson!

Stay cool beauties.
