If you’ve read my previous posts, you know I sometimes struggle with breakouts. I often think to myself “I’m 24 I shouldn’t even be breaking out anymore,” and I have a lot of friends going through the same problem. I don’t know if it is the stress of work or school, but it is something I commiserate with if you battle with trying to keep your skin clear. I’ve tried everything in the past 6 months or so and nothing has seemed to remotely help, and since my skin is also sensitive, it’s even harder to find acne products that aren’t completely drying or irritating. Then someone mentioned Dr. Bronner’s Tea Tree soap. You probably know those bottles with the weird overly wordy labels you see in your organic section of the supermarket (see picture below and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about).
The label that touts it as a “magic soap” really isn’t lying. Upon purchasing this, I washed my face twice a day (morning and night) and my skin almost completely cleared up within two days. I’m not kidding, I was shocked with the results. The thing to remember is that this soap is highly concentrated so just use a few drops and dilute it with lots of water. You can also use it on your chest, back, and shoulders in the shower if you tend to break out on your body as well. There are many different varieties, but Tea Tree oil is supposed to be an acne fighter, so that’s why I chose this kind. Because it is so pure, it can be a little drying so remember to moisturize after you use it. I’d say it is absolutely worth a try if you have acne prone skin. The website offers a couple different sizes if you do not want to commit to a big bottle, which is all I could find at the store. Hey, and if it doesn’t work for your skin, it also has 18 different uses!
Have you tried Dr. Bronner’s? Let me know what you think!
