Batchin’ and Betchin’ Recap: Season 20, Ep. 8

Last night’s episode left me feeling very confused, concerned and thankful that JoJo’s brothers aren’t mine. The only thing I can assure you that I’m NOT confused and/or concerned about is this stud right here.

I love you, Ben. See Caila, stating your feelings really is that simple.

Now onto my recap of my favorite episode of every Bachelor season…hometown dates. First up, Amanda. This episode was rife with fashion faux pas- the first was this outfit (or lack thereof). I give Amanda props for managing her emotions with Ben meeting her family AND managing to keep this uncomfortable top on for the whole day. I couldn’t have done it.

Amanda’s hometown was overall pretty low key. My biggest takeaway is that Ben and children is a combination that makes my heart melt into a giant puddle.

Aw!

Next was Ben’s hometown date with Lauren B in Portland. To be honest, I don’t have a whole lot to say about this one, besides I want whatever this delicious looking, buttery carb fest was…

Oh, and I want to visit that Whiskey Library.

NEXT.

Oh, Caila. Where do I even begin with this one…maybe when Ben referred to her as his “deepest” relationship? Oh Ben, have you been hearing what the rest of American has been listening to? I have spent weeks trying to figure out what Caila is talking about.

Moving on, before they meet her family, Ben and Caila are going to design their dream house because did you know Caila’s dad is the inventor of Toaster Strudel the CEO of a toy company?

Seriously, when I got to her date, I contemplated just pressing fast forward…but then I would have missed gems like, “we could make out in the kitchen…or on our front lawn.” Yeahhhh. At this point I was only imagining what the rest of her family was like, but her dad’s pumpkin colored pants did a good job of summing that up for me.

Overall, I’m just at the point where I’m patiently waiting for Caila to be sent home next week- I just don’t see her being ready to marry Ben.

The Batch producers certainly saved the best for last in this episode. As soon as we get to JoJo’s hometown, she finds a vase of roses and a handwritten note on her front door. Before every girl in America can scream, “IS THIS EVEN ALLOWED?!” at her TV, we find out the note is from her ex boyfriend…not Ben. Party foul.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more disastrous than this…it does. Enter JoJo’s family. You would have thought JoJo brought home JUAN PABLO with the way her brothers treated poor Ben. Sweet, cute, unassuming Ben.

Seriously, these two were like the sleaziest frat bros who weren’t even in a frat house…because they were on their sister’s hometown date…on The Bachelor. The drama continued with these two, and then JoJo’s mom pulled a move that basically summed up how we were ALL feeling.

After this hometown, I was very emotionally distressed, so I can’t even imagine how Ben felt. During the final rose ceremony, Ben shockingly didn’t send JoJo home after that ordeal, and sent Amanda packing instead.

There can be such a thing as too much drama and this episode was it. I can’t wait until next week when Ben goes against the unwritten Bachelor rules to tell not one, but two girls that he loves them!
