Happy Friday eve! I can’t believe that it’s already been a week since I left for my magical weekend adventure in NYC. If you’re following me on Instagram, you saw some snippets of my visit with my Blonde Side Bestie, but it was so much fun that I felt I needed a post to do it justice.
We got in later in the day on St. Patty’s Day, and after a quick dinner and a glass of Guinness, we went to bed early. Blonde Side Bestie and I had a big day ahead of us on Friday because we were going to see Notre Dame play in March Madness!
Friday started off like any other normal Notre Dame game day…
We went to THE coolest Irish pub, McSorley’s, where you can only order light or dark ale, and there is sawdust on the floor…just like the good old days! If you’re in NYC, this is one place I highly recommend going to visit.
Afterwards, we took the subway to Times Square. Even though I’ve already seen it so many times in my life, this is my favorite spot. It’s like the heart and soul of NYC to me! We spent a few hours walking around, and visiting Central Park before we headed to the Barclay’s Center for some March Madness action.
On our way into the game, I had a total fan girl moment when I spotted one of my favorite former Bachelorette contestants, Michael G. and obviously asked for a quick pic!
You may remember him from Des’s season of the Bachelorette. He was my absolute favorite. He’s a huge Notre Dame fan because he went to law school there…not like I’ve creeped him on Instagram or anything…and he was so nice. Win win.
To make the night even better, Notre Dame won against Michigan, one of their biggest rivals I might add!
I can check going to a March Madness game off the bucket list finally! You can also check out my Notre Dame game day style here.
Saturday was truly amazing day! Despite being sleep deprived (we got home at 2am from the game), I had a very special day ahead. We traveled to the trendy meatpacking district and stopped through Grand Central, where I obviously channeled my inner Serena van der Woodsen.
Of course, I had to make sure I had on my Blonde Side best for the occasion, so I went with this outfit!
The fringe vest was my favorite score from thredUP, but I’ve linked a similar find for you here. My flannel and quilted booties are Walmart finds and I swear, this flannel is the softest ever. Spoiler alert, it’s now on sale for $5! I have also linked the booties for you.
As I’ve already mentioned, I will be posting about the DVF Spring Collection starting next week. I had the amazing opportunity to hang out at their original flagship store in NYC and try on pieces from the collection. Part of me seriously thinks I died and went to heaven because it’s not every day you get to sip mimosas and try on one of Diane’s iconic wrap dresses in the DVF studio!
Stay tuned for all the looks I will be sharing- I am in love with DVF and the entire spring collection.
We stay at the coolest hotel Saturday night, The Paul. I loved the vibe, and the entire theme.
We even had our own patio, how often does THAT happen in NYC?! So we stayed in and ordered dinner and had a little patio party before going out to Koreatown, where we rented our own room in a karaoke bar with our friends and sang karaoke all night. Best night ever.
We headed back on Sunday, but not before I had time to stop and admire the fresh blooms.
I was also gifted Diane Von Furstenberg’s book from the girls at the DVF studio, and it truly is the perfect reminder of an amazing weekend! I can’t wait to dive into it.
For those of you wondering about my favorite Starbucks drink of choice I’m always sipping, it’s their Strawberry Refresher.
I swear, I think I left my heart in NYC this time around. Happy Thursday loves.
