Monday Favorites: Ipsy October Glam Bag Review

It’s been a while since I did an Ipsy glam bag review, and I figured this October bag was the perfect time to do so! Upon first glance, I wasn’t sure I was about to be wow-ed by any of these products, but as the only saying goes, never judge a book by it’s cover, because some of these products are true winners!

The theme of October’s glam bag is “Black Magic” and may I just say, this month was worth it just for this adorable Halloween themed pouch. Here’s what was inside…

1.Essence Cosmetics Superfine Eyeliner Pen Waterproof

As I’ve stated in previous posts, I don’t do a whole lot to switch up my eyeliner game. The newest eyeliner I’ve tried in a long time is the Kyliner. I wasn’t into trying another so so liner, but let me say, this one is AWESOME. It lives up to it’s name that’s for sure. The felt tip applicator is superfine and makes the perfect line, and it is so waterproof. It really takes some makeup remover at the end of the day to get it off. I highly reccomend this product.

2. It’s a 10 Haircare Miracle Leave-in Product

This is one of the products I wasn’t so happy to see in my glam bag. I might be the only one who can’t get on board the It’s a 10 Train, but  I’ve tried it before and I didn’t like it. I thought maybe a year or so later maybe it would be better and I didn’t give it a fair enough shot before. I’ve tried it a couple times since I received it in my glam bag and my verdict is..I still don’t like it. I don’t know if it’s my hair or what, but I don’t notice any difference. Anyone else have these thoughts about this product?!? I feel like I’m the being left out of the It’s a 10 party.

3. theBalm Cosmetics Hot Mama Blush

I’ve gotten a lot of blush lately, so that’s why I wasn’t necessarily thrilled to receive another  one. This shade is very pretty, and almost a perfect dupe for NARS Orgasm. For $21 the full size is version is little less than the NARS blushes, but if I had the choice, I would still splurge a little extra for Orgasm. It’s a classic!

4.VINTAGE by Jessica Liebeskind Brighten & Define Eye Shadow Palette in Vanilla/Espresso

Again, I wasn’t thrilled about more eyeshadow because I already have so many, but when I saw this was the Vintage by Jessica Liebskind brand, I got excited. Last year I received the Crystal Pink Illuminating Face Highlighter from this line, and it was seriously the best highlighter I have ever used. It was out of stock for a way long time, but it’s back now. You can find it here if you’re interested. When I run out of my current highlighters, I might just have to spring for it. While I’ve slightly digressed, this shadow duo is equally as good. I am loving it! It makes my eyes look natural, while defined. Perfect for everyday wear!

5.tre’StiQue Matte Lip Crayon in Belize Bordeaux

I was excited to see this lip crayon in my glam bag because last month I received a tre’StiQue highlighter stick, and it is soooo good! Unfortunately, the lip crayon didn’t live up to my high exceptions that much. The color is very similar to MAC Rebel, which is one of my favorite lipsticks. The stay power wasn’t nearly as good as my MAC and overall I just wasn’t 100% feeling this one.

For those wondering minds, I also watched each of the makeup products below

If you subscribe to Ipsy, I would love to hear what you got in your October glam bag!
