Makeup Monday: Jane Iredale Pure & Simple Kit

For years, after seeing it in salons and dermatologist offices, I’ve been wanting to see what the Jane Iredale makeup line was all about. I finally got my chance with the Pure & Simple Makeup Kit.

Major points on the packaging. The sprig of lavender was the perfect touch!

I love the “Tasting Menu” concept of this kit, which is sampling of their best sellers including the Amber and Radiant shades of their SPF 20, Sheer Honey Blush, Oyster and Supernova Eyeshadows and the Forever Peach Cheek and Lip Stain (which smells like the classic Strawberry Lipsmacker to me!). For reference I got the medium light kit.

I am also really drawn to the clean, nourishing skin ingredients that are a major component of this line, and also probably why I’ve seen it carried in the derm’s office!

This summer, it seems like the “no makeup, makeup” look is really big. I’ve never been a fan of this trend, because sometimes it takes as long to look like you’re wearing no makeup had you just actually put it on. That’s why I prefer a natural look in comparison, and quite honestly, this kit gives you the perfect in between.

I love the sheer shades which also give you amazing coverage. I used a tiny bit of BB Cream (find my summer favorite here) on a dampened beauty blender to start my look, and of course I still filled in my brows.

I used a fluffy brush to blend the Amber and Radiant powder foundation all over my face. I like to mix the two shades together. I applied Oyster all over my lids, and used the Supernova in the crease and finished my eyes with this drugstore steal of an amazing mascara

Lastly, I used a blush brush to apply the Sheer Honey to the apples of my cheeks only, and topped my lips off with the lip and cheek stain. When I first got the kit, I was so scared about this bright Forever Peach shade.

It looks highlighter orange in the tube y’all. Not even exaggerating. I never thought it would work on me, but I love it. It’s such a natural shade on my lips and is really moisturizing. I have yet to try it on my cheeks, but I’ll probably stick with the powder blush for this look.

All in all, I am loving the natural look this makeup achieves, as well as this amazing line of makeup I was able to sample. I definitely want to try the full sizes of the powder foundation because it really works wonders, and I also want see what other products are offered. I highly recommend this one to you!

Stay beautiful,
