As Christmas draws near, it’s inevitable that you’re going to be invited to Holiday parties and lots of them! It can be overwhelming to decide what to bring, what to wear wear or even how to decorate (if you’re hosting), and today I’m helping you break it down so you can be the perfect hostess with the mostest, because I love a good party.
What to make:
First let me start by saying, if cheese platter artist could be a resumé skill, it would be on mine. And tbh, I am sort of obsessed with the word charcuterie that I know use instead of cheese platter because it makes me feel oh so sophisticated.
Making a yummy, colorful variety of cheeses, fruits and some salty and sweet treats is a party go to for me! Everyone loves something simple and easy to eat while they’re socializing, and I always get complimented on the display. It is simple and filling and also goes nicely with a bottle of wine.
How to decorate:
Nobody said you have to break the budget to make your Holiday party look nice. A simple vase with a candle, or a battery operated votive (my favorites are linked) definitely gives off a nice ambiance.
You can also improv with decorations using paper. Making paper snowflakes are fun and easy. Throw it together with a quick tablecloth you can pick up at the dollar store and you have a fun and easy decor scheme for your next party.
What to wear:
We all know when it comes to Holiday parties, we have to look the part. Some of my favorite outfits include a fun, yet festive colored dress.
Buffalo plaid is on trend, and also a perfect Christmas-y colored choice. Add a little bling in the form of a statement necklace and it brings the look together in a snap.
I also love this look that I featured a couple posts ago
I love a cute sweater, and this leather skirt with lace detail a nice red lip give the perfect pop of Holiday cuteness. Find my current favorite Christmas colored red lip here.
How to wrap:
Wrapping is so important. I like to have a different aesthetic with my gifts every year. Last year I was down for some candy colored tones, and this year I’m loving plaid.
I also was at a Holiday shopping party a couple weeks back, which I featured in this post, and their wrapping also gives me serious inspiration.
Wrapping is half the battle of making a present look amazing, and exciting for the person who is unwrapping it. If you’re still looking for what to wrap, find some gift guides on my blog for her, for the beauty lover, and even though Cyber Monday is now over, I listed lots of my favorites of the season and for gift giving in this post.
So keep calm, and get your party on!
